Hello, Inspiration Made Simple readers! I’m Allison from Vintage Pollyanna. I am here today to share with you my Chocolate Bark Holiday Recipe!
THIS HOLIDAY BARK IS SO GOOD. It is a simple recipe and can usually be made with staples that you have on hand in your pantry. I started making this recipe last year and immediately began to get requests to share it. I just made it earlier this week for my son’s first-ever pre-k concert and the teachers at his school began to ask for it. So here is the recipe!
HOW TO MAKE HOLIDAY BARK
Saltine Crackers
Butter, 4 sticks
3/4 cup Brown Sugar
1/4 cup sugar
Chocolate Chips, 2 Bags
Nuts
DIRECTONS:
Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees
.
Line two baking sheets with tinfoil, and place Saltine crackers in a single layer.
Set a saucepan to medium-high and add the sticks of butter.
Then add brown sugar and white sugar to the pot.
Bring mixture to a boil for just a minute.
Remember those saltines? Pour the butter-toffee mixture over the top of them.
Put the baking sheets in the oven for ten minutes. Rotate the pans at the 5-minute mark. The saltines will come out all brown and bubbly.
Next, grab the chocolate. You can use 2 bags of Nestle Morsels, or several Hershey Bars.
After the sheet pans come out, put the chocolate on top of the crackers and pop them back in the oven for a couple of minutes–just long enough to soften the chocolate.
While the pans are in the oven, chop some nuts. Whatever kind you prefer. I use the awesome Pampered Chef chopper for this process. If you don’t have one, I highly recommend getting it!
Take the baking sheets out of the oven and using a spatula, spread the chocolate evenly over the saltines.
Honestly, I didn’t have as much chocolate on these as I wanted. I would normally have liked to have had twice as much.
Next, sprinkle the nuts over the top of the chocolate-covered saltines. If you don’t like nuts, go ahead and skip this step altogether.
Place the baking sheets in the fridge for a few hours so that the candy can harden. After the chocolate bark has cooled, remove it from the fridge, peel the bark away from the tinfoil, and break it into pieces.
Next? Enjoy! Hoover the chocolate bark like crazy, eat it for three meals a day, put it over vanilla ice cream, what ever makes you happy. And be prepared to be the baker of the most popular treat at any holiday party you attend moving forward.

In our house we call it Christmas Crack – to addictive
I’ve never heard of this treat before, but it looks yummy! It would be nice to make a holiday bark that’s different from the Oreo one we normally do.
