Thank you to Michaels for sponsoring this Back to School Adventure and craft project!

When Michaels challenged me to come up with a fun craft project to celebrate the first day of school I immediately started brainstorming a teacher gift. What’s better than a super easy, perfect for kids, craft that they can make as a present for their teacher to welcome them back to school (and maybe get on their good side!)?

What did you think? Would you like to see more videos like this?
I’m hoping to try making more and always having a child co-host.
Have a kid you think would enjoy learning new crafts and techniques?
Introduce them to Kid Crafted! Do they have a craft they would like to share?
Have them send me an email detailing the craft and include a photo and they might just see their name and photo on a future episode!
For those that prefer written instructions:
You will need the following (all of which I found at Michaels):
4″ terra cotta pot and saucer
Red and brown acrylic paint
Wood spool or brown clay
Fake leaf
Adhesive
Paint Brush
Clear acrylic gloss spray

Directions:
1 – Paint the pot and saucer inside and out and let dry
2 – Paint the wooden spool brown (for the stem)
2 – Spray the pot with the clear acrylic spray and let dry
3 –  Glue the spool to the top of the lid with the leaf

PLEASE NOTE: I have researched whether or not terra cotta pots are food safe and the answer is no, so if you want to put treats inside, make sure that they are wrapped!

Fill with goodies and give to your favorite teacher! Did you know that Michaels has an app where you can get the latest deals and coupons?
I use it all the time and recommend it to everyone that asks me about shopping at Michaels!Looking for more Back to School inspiration?
