DISCLOSURE: This project was part of the 2014 Cricut Design Space Star Challenge.
November’s category for the Cricut Design Space Star Challenge is Holiday Crafts and Gear and my team, Design Team 14 , chose a Dreamy White Holiday theme. With this in mind, I decided to create a simple Nativity that I made out of sparkly white paper and natural elements from my yard! This project is inexpensive and easy to make and really looks stunning in an unused fireplace!
My teammates came up with some pretty fabulous ideas as well and I have added links to all of my teams posts at the bottom of this post so that you can find even more Home Decor and Gift Ideas made with the Cricut Explore (affiliate link for your convenience).
My Paper Nativity Scene was a super easy project that makes a really stunning statement piece in my non-working fireplace! All of the images came from the Cricut Image Library. I made a few simple changes to some of the silhouettes to make them the way I wanted them. I also measured my fireplace space to determine the size of each figure. To make the figures stand up, I cut 1″ wide strips of paper and hot glued them to the back of the figure. I then folded the bottom half of the strip so that it created a little stand. Easy peasy!
I added some pine branches to the bottom of the fireplace and cut some branches off my leafless trees from my yard. I tied those together with twine to create the manger. Lastly I hot glued the North Star in place.
Do you display a Nativity at Christmas? Would you give this paper version a try?
