This post brought to you by Oriental Trading.

I was so happy when October 1st came around because that meant I could start decorating my brand new front porch! Our old front porch was dark and small and there was nothing special about it. When we built the new house I changed the plans to extend the porch across the whole front of the house, added in some gorgeous stone on the columns and also painted our front door a beautiful colbalt blue. I enlisted the help of Oriental Trading to style my Halloween Porch Decor.

Halloween Porch Decor

I went to the Oriental Trading website and started perusing their Halloween items and immediately fell in love with these black lanterns – they are perfect for my front porch, but also for my living room, so once Halloween is over, I can move them inside and use them year round!

Outdoor Porch LanternsI put some battery operated candles inside the lanterns, but could totally see these filled with small cheesecloth ghosts, spiders, or the skulls, or a plethora of other spooky items!

I also found some white ceramic pumpkins that I figured I could do something to. I was originally planning on stacking them, but when they came in I decided I needed to pretty them up first and grabbed out a Sharpie. Once I finished the designs, I thought they were cute enough on their own! For the largest pumpkin I drew my design in pencil before going over that with the Sharpie. Super easy and I love how they look.

DIY Sharpie PumpkinsThe mums came from my local grocery store and I love them, but I didn’t have any fancy pots to put them in and I couldn’t find any in stores locally. To pretty up the cheap plastic pots they came in I simply wrapped printed burlap around the pot and secured with hot glue. I was planning on ordering some pots, but I actually like the look of these and it cost my nothing since I had the burlap on hand!

DIY Halloween Door Decor - Cardstock Bats

To finish of the decor, and to pull the eye to the front door I cut some bats out of black cardstock using my Cricut and taped them to the door. I LOVE how they look against the blue!
