It’s the time of year for making personalized gifts and this You’re My Person DIY Photo Display is one of my favorite’s! It is inexpensive to make and can be customized in tons of ways, and the recipient is totally going to get the feels when they open it! And because I’m feeling in the giving mood, I’ve made the “You’re My Person” quote available as an SVG cut file for use with craft cutting machines. Download the file at the bottom of this post.
You’re My Person DIY Photo Display
Supplies:
Wood Board – mine was an 8x10Decorative Clothespin
Acrylic Paint
Paint Brush
Vinyl
Cutting Machine (alternative in tutorial)
Hot Glue Gun

Paint your wood board a color of your choice. I went with white so that it matched most anything.
Upload the “You’re My Person” svg file to your cutting machine’s design software. Size to fit one half of your wood board and cut out of vinyl. I get all of my vinyl from Expression’s Vinyl – they have great stock at affordable prices.
ALTERNATIVELY, if you don’t have a cutting machine you could simply hand paint the quote onto the board using my design for reference.
Using transfer tape, lightly lay the vinyl on the board where you want it to be, but don’t adhere it yet. Figure out where you want your clothespin to be placed. I measured the distance between the vinyl and the side of the board and then figured out where the middle was and hot glued the clothespin in place. I did use a 4×6 piece of paper to help decide placement – I needed to make sure I placed the clothespin high enough to accommodate a vertical photo. Now that the clothespin is fixed in place, adhere the vinyl in place and you’re done!
That’s it! Pick out a favorite picture of you and “you’re person” and gift away.

I also included a jpeg version for those that aren’t comfortable working with svg files. You can upload it into Cricut Design Space and follow the directions on the screen.
