DIY Box of Chocolates for Mom this Mother's DayMother’s Day is coming and we all want to show Mom how much we appreciate her. Especially those of us who have become parents ourselves and realize how much mom’s really do sacrifice! If your mom is anything like me or my mom, then she loves chocolate (who the heck doesn’t?!). So what is better than a delicious box of chocolates? Well, how about DIY PERSONALIZED chocolates? I went with a Disney theme for this box, but you can use any theme you want. These are great little gifts to hand out to all the Mom’s you know! Once you’ve made one or two of these you’ll be able to whip them together in minutes!

To make the Hershey Kiss Stickers:

In Cricut Design Space, create a .75″ circle. Then insert an image of your choice. I used images from the Disney® Princesses – Believing in Dreams cartridge. Resize the image to fit within your circle. Select the image and the circle and then choose “Flatten”. This will connect the two items, and will also turn any non-print-then-cut images into one. Create as many of these as you want.

Print then Cut with Cricut Explore

I also created three circles with text that read “Happy”, “Mother’s”, “Day” using the “handwriting” font. I then flattened the two items together so that they would become print then cut items.Handwritten font with Cricut ExploreNow that you have all of your stickers together and flattened, go ahead and put some label paper into your printer and click “Go” in Design Space. This will send the file to print. When it is done, you will put the printed sheet onto your cutting mat, load it into the Cricut machine and set the dial to cardstock. Load the mat and click the blinking “C” button. The machine will then cut out your printed images. Go ahead and stick those to the bottom of your Hershey Kisses.

To make the paper box:

I used #M419B0 Favor Box from the Bridal Shower cartridge. Once I inserted that into my file, I added a decorative frame from the Disney Princess Cartridge, and then wrote “Mom” and added a heart inside it. I flattened those and then attached that to the cover of the box (the smaller piece of the box set).

I also inserted the #M6B86D6 Bow from the Best of Cricut -Party and Gifting cartridge. I set the color of the bow to match the bottom of the box, which tells the machine to cut those two pieces from the same piece of paper.

Now go ahead and click “Go” and follow the directions on the screen – you will need a scoring tool and a thin black marker.
