Expressions Vinyl sent me a box of Red, White and Blue Vinyl and challenged me to make something patriotic… and when I opened the package and saw the polka dot vinyl I almost fell down. I’ve never seen polka dot vinyl. I LOVE polka dots! I was so excited to put it to use! I knew that I wanted to make a sign because I had a 12×12 wood plaque that’s been hanging out in my craft room forever. I also knew that I wanted to use a map of the USA because I thought it would look adorable in the blue polka dot. So I got to work painting the plaque white and setting the map up in Cricut Design Space. Then I started brainstorming what I wanted for words on the map. It came down between “Land of the Free” and “Land that I Love”. Since I wasn’t able to make the decision on my own I hit up the interwebs to see if there was a saying I liked better… and I came across this Land that I Love image on Pinterest, which turned out to be a Silhouette file. It was similar to what I had in mind so I created something very similar for my Cricut Explore. Follow along as I show you how I made this super simple Patriotic Land that I Love Sign, and if you have a Cricut, I’m sharing the file so that you can make your own!
