Are you getting excited for Star Wars The Last Jedi? My Star Wars fanatic family certainly is! And to celebrate the upcoming release, we took our Wookie Pie’s idea and turned it into another family favorite – Ice Cream Sandwiches! I transformed my Graham Cracker Ice Cream Sandwiches into Wookie Ice Cream Sandwiches just by adding a Tootsie Roll and marshmallow bits bandolier!
The Tootsie Roll bandolier breaks when you bite into it and then turns chewy as your mouth warms it. It’s a bit weird but quite delicious. The kids love these ice cream sandwiches too. They whip up quickly and present nicely! These are actually easy enough for kids to make on their own, which is always nice.
If you’re as Star Wars crazed as we are, go grab the following ingredients and make your own Wookie Ice Cream Sandwiches!
Ingredients:
Chocolate Graham Crackers
Ice Cream of your choice
Chocolate Sprinkles (or do you call them jimmy’s?!)
Tootie Rolls
Marshmallow bites
Directions:
Scoop a large spoonful of ice cream onto half a graham cracker.
Place the other half of the graham cracker on top and gently press down.
Pour the chocolate sprinkles into a bowl and dip all four sides of the ice cream sandwich into the sprinkles.
Place the sandwiches into the freezer to firm up.
Roll out a Tootsie Roll and cut into strips. Take out the ice cream sandwiches and place the Tootsie Roll on the sandwich, tucking around and over the edge of the sandwich.
Wet the underside of the marshmallow bits and place onto the Tootsie Roll belt.
Place into the freezer until ready to serve.
