This is a sponsored post. I received product from Avery. All opinions are 100% my own.

I’m not sure who was more excited when I received a box of binders and other back-to-school supplies from Avery, my daughter or myself. I told her I wanted one so that I could actually stay organized with my children’s school paperwork this year, but that she could have the rest for her upcoming 8th grade school year.

How to set-up and organize a school binder to help stay organized this school year! What is my big plan for staying organized? I created a School Binder with tabbed sections where I can keep important info, contact info, to-do paperwork and schedules for all three kids. Three kids! My baby girl starts Kindergarten at the end of this month! I think I need to start a support group.

I brainstormed a little while on how I wanted this binder to work for me and came up with the following five sections:
School Information – Where I will store school contacts, important numbers, teacher information, administrators and special educators, etc. Anyone that I might need to reach easily.

Classmates – Each year, most of our teachers send us a list of our children’s classmates and contact information and each year, I loose the darn thing and then am scrambling when I need to reach out to another parent. This year that WILL NOT happen, because I plan to keep a list of each of my children’s classmates right in my new spiffy binder!

Schedules – This section will be where I place my kids schedules of core and enrichment classes. It helps remind me when Mason needs to wear sneakers for gym, or what time Cass will be in each class so that if I have to schedule an appointment, I don’t take her out of an important one!

Important Papers – Keep student handbooks, school policies and any other important papers that you don’t need on a daily basis but you don’t want to loose!

Back to School BinderI used Avery Insertable Tab Plastic Dividers 11200, which are more rugged and hold up much better than the cardboard dividers. Since I had to create the tabs for my binder, I saved the pdf so that if you want to replicate mine, you can easily do so by downloading the School Binder Avery Tab Dividers Template. Print the pdf out onto the tab sheet that comes with Avery 11200. Punch the tabs out and insert into the divider and place inside a binder.

The Avery Binder that I used had a clear plastic cover on the front so that you can add your own cover, so of course I had to design something cute for that!

My kids don’t go back-to-school until the last week of August but I’ve already begun filing paperwork in my binder and I am getting excited to stay nice and organized this school year! When do your kids go back-to-school? How do you stay organized through the school year? What do you think? Are you going to give a School Binder a try?
