I’m so excited to be back at seven thirty three sharing about two things I love — decorating and collecting.
I’m Amy from Atta Girl Says, a blog where I share ideas to make your home brighter and your heart lighter.
For as long as I can remember, I have been collecting things. Stickers and Garbage Pail Kids trading cards (who remembers those?) in elementary school. Cassettes and CDs in high school. Shoes and purses in my single days. Lanterns and pottery and so much more when I started making a home for myself. Maybe I have a hoarding gene.
I collect vintage pottery, mostly McCoy, and in every room in our house, you’ll see pottery on display and in use…
…for its original purpose.
But also used unexpectedly for storage.
William Morris would be proud! Beauty+Function.
“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.”
I would add that you should only fill your home with things you love. And if you love something enough to collect it, then display your collections.
Group them together, as I’ve done in my kitchen with my mason jar collection, or display them throughout your home.
Those jars don’t stay put!
What do you collect? How do you display your collections?
I asked some other bloggers these questions, and I’m thrilled to share with you their answers. Prepare to be inspired.
