I’ve been wanting to make Christmas Stockings for the last 3 years. I’m not sure why it took me so long, especially since once I sat down to do it they were fairly easy to make!
Without further ado, here are our new stockings:

Aren’t they pretty? When my husband and I were first married 10 years ago we went to The Christmas Tree Shoppe and bought two matching felt stockings. They were nice and big and though they weren’t the most sophisticated style, we liked them. When our daughter joined our family the next year we went back to the store and got one for her. Unfortunately they didn’t have any similar to ours, so hers was mismatching. The same went for our other two children when they were born. All different colors, styles and sizes. Looking at my new coordinating stockings make me smile!
(The kids and I made some ornaments and they ended up hanging theirs on their stockings… I think they look cute and might have to make one for my husbands and mine!)
I made mine out of 2 yards of a natural canvas, 2 yards of white cotton lining, satin ruffle, twill tape and gold buttons. If you need a tutorial for making the cuff, I recommend Cluck Cluck Sew’s Lined Stocking with Cuff Tutorial.

The other new addition to my mantel that I created is that Deer Head Silhouette canvas. I didn’t have a piece of wood the right size so I grabbed a 14×18 canvas and created a faux wood finish. I then cut the deer silhouette out of gold vinyl using my Silhouette CAMEO. I love the end result and I’ve been told on Instagram that deer heads are hot this year, so I guess I’m part of the in crowd!

Do you want to make your own stockings?
