My children learn new things best when they are presented in a fun way. So when my daughter came home talking about the money unit they were working on, I knew I wanted to create a printable game that would help her conquer U.S. Coins in no time flat! Thinking back to the Roll-a-Snowman game I made when she was a younger, I decided to create a Build a Snowman Money Math Game. After a bit of brainstorming I came up with an idea that I thought would work perfectly. We have tested it several times and it worked perfectly. And on top of that, she is now a rockstar with her coins, their values, and being able to add and subtract depending on what she is trying to buy.

The premise of the game? The player is trying to build a snowman, but they have to buy all of the snowman parts and only have so much money in their wallet. The player purchases parts until they don’t have enough money to buy anymore and then they count up how much the snowman cost. Our most expensive snowman was $1.13! If you have a child that is just learning about coins and their values, or have a child that is struggling to remember the coin values and the arithmetic that goes along with it, then give this game a try!
