Now onto the project!
Today I’m sharing how I created this sweet little Elephant Photo Holder. He was easy to make and is uber-cute. He would also work great as a paper weight, party decor or just as a fun craft for kids to do. Couldn’t you even see making an extra large one and putting it on a shelf in a nursery?

I used my Silhouette Studio Designer Edition Software and Silhouette machine to make the elephant.

I drew the elephant shape in Illustrator, exported it as an SVG and imported it into Silhouette Studio Designer Edition. The neat thing about the Designer Edition is that you can use your own artwork or clip art to cut out shapes! I used the trace and cut method to cut out 18 elephants out of chipboard (I used 3 12×12 sheets). I also cut two elephants out of adhesive backed cardstock in gray (one of the shapes needs to be a mirror image). Below is a video from Silhouette that details the trace and cut method:

I used regular school glue to glue all of the chipboard elephants together, making sure that their feet lined up really well (if they don’t, he may not stand well!). After letting that dry, I adhered the cardstock elephants to each side and glued on googly eyes. I also cut two half circles out of the gray adhesive cardstock to use as his ears.  I added a looped wire to the top of the elephant so that he could hold photos on a shelf in my daughters room.
