When my friend Krista texted me asking me to help her with her daughter Everleigh’s First Birthday Party, I got so excited. You all know how much I love planning parties. We decided on a Minnie Mouse Birthday party and I immediately brainstormed the Minnie Mouse dessert table, which is where I typically start, and together we planned the rest of the party. Without further ado:

The Minnie Mouse dessert table featured a polka dot backdrop and a framed picture of the birthday girl. The frame is the same one I used from my daughters Sofia the First Party that I got at Michaels.

The Minnie Mouse cupcakes and cakes came from a local home bakery.

The DIY Minnie Mouse Party favors were Krista’s idea – she put them together and I designed, printed, and cut the Minnie tag that she added to the jars. Inside the jars are Hershey Kisses and Dove Chocolate Hearts. Krista used black rainbow loom bands to hold the fabric squares in place and hot glued ribbon over that.

Do you have a Silhouette or Cricut cutting machine and want to make the birthday tag?

Below you will find links to .SVG files of generic “Thank you for coming” tags. Download and load the file into your cutting machine design software.

These svg files are for personal use only.
I shared a Minnie Mouse Topiary tutorial so that you can make your own fun table decorations!
I also LOVE the Rice Krispie Treats Minnie Heads that Krista made as party favors.
Even the cheese and meats got Minnie and Mickey Makeovers using a simple Mickey Mouse cookie cutter! Although we weren’t doing a full meal, you could totally do hot dogs and they’d be on theme as Hot Diggity Dogs!
This dessert mix is addicting and everyone loved munching it – recipe is at the bottom of the post.
I designed and printed the photo garland and Krista put it together.vIt has a picture of Everleigh from each month of the first year of her life!I love seeing how much babies change the first year of life. It’s adorable details like these that really make a party special and memorable.

There were pictures EVERYWHERE! Krista made this number out of pictures. I love doing this – you may remember the three I made for Olivia’s Little Einstein’s Birthday. It truly makes a great decoration and conversation piece.

For a party activity, we had a Paper Bag Pinata, which worked perfectly and was filled with 8 pounds of goodies! The kids really got into it and filled their goodie bags to the brim.

I can’t wait until we plan her second birthday! I have so much fun planning kid’s birthdays, from the party tables to the favors and more, I take joy in seeing the party guests ooh and ahh over all of the special details!

Olivia’s DIY Minnie outfit fit in with the party decor perfectly!
