I took my girls to see the new Disney Cinderella film on opening night a couple of weeks ago. It was such a beautiful movie – wonderfully shot. The dress scene, that I’m sure most have seen a portion of via the preview, was spectacular. My girls were enamored with Ella, and I with her Prince!
Ella was faced with hostility, humiliation and degradation, but throughout it all she managed to keep her promise to her dying mother: Have courage and be kind.
It was a phrase that my girls and I discussed on the drive home and one I’ve found myself repeating from time to time. I thought that if it had struck such a cord for me and mine, that it may have with your young girls as well.
In celebration of that, I made this free black and white printable that you can print and personalize by painting with watercolors. Match it to any color scheme and then frame it for a great daily reminder to always have courage and be kind! Me, my youngest daughter and son all painted one and I love how each turned out different! Each one ended up with a different feel. The one that made it into this post was our favorite and was my son’s (he wanted to make sure he got credit for his work!).
Love it! Thanks for sharing. Where did you get the frame?
The frame is from Cut It Out (www.cutitoutalready.com) – it’s my go-to place for fun frames!
Perfect! Thank you! Can’t wait to buy some!
