My youngest daughter, Olivia, is obsessed with Emojis… like most other 8 and 9 year olds. So for her 9th birthday party we decided to go with an Emoji Paint and Sip party! This was such a fun party to plan, easy to execute and honestly, the girls surprised me with how into it they were! I think this was one of my favorite kids parties to date.

Let’s take a peek at what I created, along with my brainstorming partner, Krista.

Emoji Unicorn Cake for an Emoji Paint and Sip Party for Kids

As always, I put together a main focal table which held the AMAZING cake created by Inspire Happenings. My daughter came up with the idea to use the Unicorn Emoji and surround it with other emojis, and Missy ran with it!

The cake was stunning and absolutely delicious! And she’ll be sharing the tutorial over on the Inspire Happenings YouTube Channel, so make sure to check that out.

In addition to the cake, the table held a couple of emoji balloons, a Poop Emoji Fruit Dip platter, Emoji Chocolate Bark and gum, Fry boxes full of veggie sticks and Cheetos, Hamburg Emoji Cookies (they’re the same recipe as the Krabby Patty Cookies Krista made for Olivia’s Spongebob Birthday Party), and a lightbox with fun emojis.

And can we talk about that colorful backdrop for a moment? Those are simply plastic tablecloths that I hung with packing tape, some paper plate emojis and a posterboard emoji that I created with the help of my Cricut Maker.

We used the Fluffy Chocolate Fruit Dip recipe from Five Heart Home to create delicious Poop Emoji Fruit Dip. Yes, disgusting, but also hilarious and adorable and a HIT with the girls! Follow the recipe of the Fluffy Chocolate Fruit Dip, place into a piping bag and create the swirl on a platter. Add a couple of large candy eyes and you’ve got your Poop Emoji Fruit Dip!

For the painting stations we pushed two tables together and set each place with a goodie bag that contained an easel, a canvas, a mini easel and canvas, a palette, brushes and emoji examples.

The bags also had a few other treats for the girls, including an apron. The place settings also included paints and some stencils I made with my Cricut Maker.

And of course each girl had a cup for water and a wine glass for their sparkling grape juice.

Once everyone arrived, they say down and decorated their aprons with fabric markers. Once done, we moved on to painting and sipping!

The night before the party I painted an example of what the girls could paint at the party. I put that on display so the kids could peek at it whenever they needed inspiration. They traced a paper plate to trace the emoji head and used the stencils for things such as hearts, sunglasses, etc.

It was great to see all of the different variations of the painting that each girl did and I think they all did an absolutely fabulous job! The whole process – aprons and painting – took about an hour and half. After that we did presents and cake and the girls had some time to play.

Thanks to Consumer Crafts for helping make this party so great! They provided me with the easels, canvases, brushes, paints, aprons and paint palettes. Their items are so affordable that it makes this party doable! It was such a wonderful party and everyone was quite excited that they got to bring home all of their supplies and show off the paintings they made.
