My friend and neighbor, Kristin, has a home bakery where she creates the most beautiful (and delicious) treats! Cakes, cake pops, cupcakes, cookies – oh my! Occasionally she’ll reach out for a custom cake topper, and I am always happy to help. It gives me a chance to design and craft some beautiful pieces. Most recently I designed a gold glitter Sweet 16 cake topper that she topped a beautiful pink and gold cake with. It was elegant and gorgeous and I kind of want one for my next birthday! Post contains affiliate links for your convenience.

DIY Sweet 16 Cake Topper with the Cricut Maker

This DIY Sweet 16 Cake Topper is a breeze to make using my Cricut Maker. I used Cricut Design Space to design the piece and then sent it to my machine to cut it out using a glitter gold cardstock. Once the cutting was complete, I simply hot glued a bamboo skewer to the back. Kristin decorated the cake with fresh florals and I absolutely love the end result!
