My friend and neighbor, Kristin, has a home bakery where she creates the most beautiful (and delicious) treats! Cakes, cake pops, cupcakes, cookies – oh my! Occasionally she’ll reach out for a custom cake topper, and I am always happy to help. It gives me a chance to design and craft some beautiful pieces. Most recently I designed a gold glitter Sweet 16 cake topper that she topped a beautiful pink and gold cake with. It was elegant and gorgeous and I kind of want one for my next birthday! This DIY Sweet 16 Cake Topper is a breeze to make using my Cricut Maker. I used Cricut Design Space to design the piece and then sent it to my machine to cut it out using a glitter gold cardstock. Once the cutting was complete, I simply hot glued a bamboo skewer to the back. Kristin decorated the cake with fresh florals and I absolutely love the end result!
Are you celebrating a Sweet 16? Would you like to have a gorgeous topper like this, for under $1?! Then grab some cardstock, your Cricut Maker and my Design Space file and get creating!
Below is another cake that Kristin and I collaborated on. A fabulous 50 cake topper! Don’t you absolutely love the color scheme?!
I love my Cricut Maker for this reason alone! It allows you to create custom pieces and take your projects to the next level!
