Hi Seven Thirty Three readers, it’s Shauna again from The Best Blog Recipes!  Today I’m going to share with you my new favorite way to make brownies.  Warning… the following recipe may be highly addictive and you might not want to share with your family.  In fact, you might eat the whole batch yourself if you prepare this at just the right time while the kids are outside playing and your husband is at work 😉

Funny story about these brownies.  I actually did eat almost the entire batch myself the first time I made these.  No joke.  They were that good.  The brownie topped with peanut butter, milk chocolate chips and Honey Bunches of Oats was really to die for! I kept finding myself in the kitchen “sneaking” just one more until… oops.  I ate them all.  I did share one with my hubby and two with my daugher though.  That counts for something, right?
And the best part?  These were super easy to make!  I totally cheated and used a boxed brownie mix and they still turned out to be fabulous!  I found the original idea over at Baking and Mistaking.  The recipe called for Rice Krispies but I thought it would be fun to try a different kind of cereal for the topping and it turned out to be a total winner!
Your favorite box brownie mix
1 cup of Peanut Butter
1 cup of Milk Chocolate Chips
Line a 9×13 casserole dish with parchment paper.
Mix together all ingredients on brownie box and pour into a 9×13 casserole dish.  The mixture should be on the thinner side.  Make sure to use a spatula to spread this mixture out evenly so it doesn’t burn in spots.
Bake at 350° for 20-25 minutes.  Test with a butter knife or toothpick to make sure that it comes out clean.
Let cool completely before adding mixture to the top.
Directions for the mixture:
Add your chocolate chips and peanut butter to a microwave safe bowl.  Microwave for 25 seconds.  Remove and stir.  Microwave for an additional 15 seconds, remove and stir.  Complete this process until mixture is smooth and no lumps remain.
Add the Honey Bunches of Oats Cereal and stir until evenly coated with chocolate and peanut butter.  Spread over the top of the brownies and allow to cool in the fridge for at least 1 hour.

* I kept my our brownies in the fridge and the were SO GOOD cold!
*Using parchment paper just helps with cleanup and gets the brownies out of the pan easier.  If you don’t have parchment paper, now worries.  Just lightly grease the bottom of your casserole dish.

Serve and enjoy!
