The countdown for Thanksgiving is on! We’re a little over a month away from a smorgasbord of delicious main dishes, side dishes, and desserts! During this time I enjoy stopping to take a moment to reflect on all of the things that I am thankful for in my life. Sometimes, as a busy mom working a full-time job, I forget to stop and appreciate the good things I have going on. From my family, my health, to my friendships and good fortune. I’m teaching my children to do the same. With that in mind, I created a printable Thanksgiving Countdown to keep track of how many days until Thanksgiving. It also has a space to reflect on something we are thankful for each day!
How many days until Thanksgiving?
The free printable Thanksgiving Countdown is available as an 8.5×11 pdf file at the bottom of this post. Simply download the file and save it to your computer. Open it in Adobe Reader and print it onto paper. Trim the print down to 8″ x 10″, and place it inside of a picture frame.
Using a dry erase marker, fill in how many days until Thanksgiving on the turkey’s tummy. Next, have your kids write down what they’re thankful for in the spot provided.
Thanksgiving Family Activity
A great time to do this Thanksgiving activity as a family is around the dinner table. Take a moment each night to discuss what everyone is thankful for. Hold a family vote to decide which one gets written on the countdown that day!
It truly is a great way to take time as a family to acknowledge how grateful we are for the things and people in our life!
