Homemade Protein Bars

Delicious homemade protein bars eliminate all the extras that store-bought bars have.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain Cheerios
  • 1/2 cup Low Fat Peanut Butter or your favorite nut butter
  • 1/3 cup Pure Honey
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate Protein Powder
  • 1/4 cup Dark Chocolate optional

Instructions

  • Spray an 8x8 baking pan or dish with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
  • In a medium saucepan over low heat combine the peanut butter and honey. Stir until warm and creamy.
  • Add in the protein powder and stir well.
  • Combine the mixture with the Cheerios in a bowl, mixing well.
  • Once mixed, pour into the prepared baking dish. Use a rubber spatula to spread and level the bars.
  • Place the dark chocolate in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 3o seconds. Stir. If the chocolate is not completely melted, return to the microwave for another 30 seconds.
  • Drizzle the chocolate over the top of the bars.
  • Place into the freezer for 1 hour.

Notes

Once hardened, cut into bars and place in an airtight container. Keep refrigerated.
