I’m a sucker for candy corn! Hands up people – who eats these little yellow, orange and white bits of goodness by the handful during October? I know there are some of you out there. In my opinion, you can never have enough candy corn so today I’m sharing some cute Fabric Candy Corn Decor with you.
For this project, you will need:
Styrofoam cone
White, yellow and orange fabric and/or ribbon
Buttons
Hot glue
First, cut strips of your fabric or ribbon to fit around the cone. Start at the bottom with the yellow. Wrap your fabric/ribbon around the cone and secure it in the back by hot gluing.
Repeat this process with the orange and white fabric/ribbon. When you get to the white layer, use a “wrapping paper” technique to secure the fabric to the top of the cone. Take the two sides and pinch them in and then fold and secure with hot glue. Attach buttons to the front with hot glue.
Since you are wrapping things around a cone shape, the back of the cone will not look very pretty. I suggest displaying this on a mantel or a shelf where the back of the cone is not visible. Mine is currently sitting on top of my cubby storage next to my chevron pumpkin. See that other cute pumpkin? That tutorial will be on my blog tomorrow so be sure to stop by.
