I am so excited that May has arrived, the warm weather has finally started to push through and we can get our camper fired up! I’ve been camping since I was a child and I love it. I love how relaxing it is. I love the great company. The kids are unplugged and outside getting dirty, we connect as a family and enjoy the outdoors. Last year we purchased a 36′ Outback Travel Trailer (and a truck to tow it) and are so in love with it. We camp, but we don’t necessarily rough it! I love having the bathroom for the kids (not so great for my 6’4″ husband, so I keep a shower caddy handy so that he can easily transport bathroom essentials to the campground bathrooms), and I love that they get their own space – the back of the camper has a bunk house that slides out and gives plenty of play room. I also love that we have the option to watch TV at night or to listen to the radio during the day, and the kitchen is priceless. Even though we have the TV, we don’t use it often. We typically are outside, enjoying the fire and the fresh air.
Even if you’re not someone who enjoys the outdoors, I think taking your kids camping once or twice is a must, and who knows, you might find yourself relaxing and enjoying yourself!
