Clay Pikachu Ornament Tutorial by @733blogDo you have a grade schooler in your house? Then most likely you’ve at least heard of Pikachu before. My 2nd grader has TONS of Pokemon cards – it’s big at his school where they love to trade cards on the bus and playground. Each Christmas we make several ornaments for the tree out of clay, so this year I decided to make my son a Pikachu Clay Ornament. He was pretty excited when I showed it to him… but his little sister was even MORE excited! They both said it would be awesome to have this little cutie on the tree this year.

If you have a Pokemon fan, you can make this ornament pretty easily, with minimal tools.

Supplies Needed:

Clay in Golden Yellow, Red, Black and White

Clay Tools (or a knife, toothpick and rolling pin)

Fishing Line

Freezer Paper

Pikachu Clay Ornament TutorialGrab a chunk of yellow clay and prep it by rolling it and warming it up. Once you have it set so that it is easy to mold, roll it into a ball and place it on some freezer paper.

Clay Pikachu HeadRoll it to about 1/4″ flat. Mine was about 2″ in diameter.

I placed them up against the head where I wanted and then lightly rolled over all the pieces, making them stick to the head. You may need to flip it over and do the same for the other side.

I laid one on top of the yellow ear and carefully worked it around the edges and underneath and then lightly rolled it into place with a rolling pin. Do the same for the other ear.
