My son has been slowing down on his rainbow loom bracelet making in recent months, but he still has hundreds of little rainbow loom bands. So we decided to use up those smaller rubber bands by making bouncy rubber band balls! If your kids have tons of those mini-colored bands hanging around, here’s a fun craft that they’ll enjoy making and enjoy playing with even more!

Paper to Bouncy BallCreate a bouncy ball with paper and rainbow loom bands!

Roll the paper between your hands to create a ball.

How to make a bouncy ballWrap the paper with the bands (you can also use aluminum foil or a marble in place of the paper). I switch it up, several just wrapped once, and one or two wrapped twice – switch it up as you go.

Rubber Band Bouncy BallKeep adding bands until you can no longer see the paper… and then add a few more layers. The ball should be about the size of a normal bouncy ball. Make sure the last 3-4 bands that you add are wrapped around the ball twice. That’s it, you’re done! Now it’s time to start playing!

Make a solid color ball, or make a multi-color ball – get as creative as you want. We used the glow-in-the-dark bands for a bit of added flair.

It doesn’t get much simpler than these easy rubber band balls. Kids will have all sorts of fun as they bounce their balls all over the house.
