As part of the Make it Fun design team I was challenged to take a box of FloraCraft supplies and turn them into some fun Halloween Decor. We not only had to use the Styrofoam that was included, but somehow also include one of following: Burlap Garland, LED Light Strands, LED Lighted Branch.
I ended up making a couple of fun items that could be used inside or out and are super simple to make! Let’s take a look, shall we?
First up, I will show you how to make these super easy, and inexpensive Styrofoam Burlap Wrapped Letters:
Supplies:
Letter Stencils
Knife or Styrofoam Cutter
Burlap
Plastic Spiders (optional)
Styrofoam Glue or Hot Glue
First, either create your own letters and print them out, or download my “E & K” Stencil. Cut them out and lay them on your styrofoam. Using a pencil, carefully trace around the stencil.
Use a knife or styrofoam cutter to cut the letters from the sheet of foam – definitely do this outside if possible… it can get messy!
Now it’s time to wrap the letters with the burlap. I folded the burlap garland in half and wrapped it around the letters, it took a bit of working to get it the way I liked. Just take your time. I used glue to secure it as I went.
After your letters are wrapped, add plastic spiders (mine were rings – I just cut off the ring part) as desired and you are done!
Check back soon because I will be showing you how I made that fun, googly-eyed spider!

Great project, a bit creeped out with the spiders. The one bug I am really afraid of, LOL!

I’m hearing more and more of that from people lately! LOL. These could totally be done less creepy – think Pink and Orange Sparkle Burlap!
The burlap wrapping makes the letters look like mummies, which is perfect for Halloween. I decorate my porch with spiders, and I’m looking forward to your tutorial. Thank you!
