Mardi Gras is fast approaching. Will you be hosting a party or visiting a local parade with your kids? Then how about having a little crafting session to make a fun and easy DIY Mardi Gras Mask! Inexpensive and kids will love being able to customize their mask, rather than buying a pre-made one.
SUPPLIES: (List includes affiliate links for your convenience)
Mask
Feathers
Buttons
Hot Glue
School Glue
Glitter
INSTRUCTIONS:
Using school glue, add drops or lines to create a fun design on the mask.
Sprinkle glitter over the glue. Turn mask over and tape it so excess glitter falls off. If you want to save the excess glitter, do this over a piece of paper and then funnel the glitter back into the bottle! If there is glitter stuck on the mask, wait until the glue dries and you’ll be able to gently brush or blow it off.
If you plan on using feathers, pick out a few that you like. Glue them onto the mask with hot glue. To cover the stems I also added a large button.
Continue to embellish with different color glitters, designs and feathers until you are happy with your mask.
Set aside to dry for an hour or two before wearing.
For the green, gold and red mask I covered one whole side of the mask with glitter. To do so, use a paint brush to cover the mask in a layer of glue and then sprinkle on the glitter.
Don’t you love how different these both look? So fun to make and easy to create something to fit each wearers personality!
