I’ve been loving mermaid wave hair lately. I have naturally straight hair with a bit of wave underneath. I also have a TON of hair and it is long and heavy, so unless I use a curling tool, I end up with flat top portion and wavy bottom. To help solve this problem I use product. One that I really like is a DIY Sea Salt Spray. You can use your favorite ingredients to create the spray that works best for you!

How to use Sea Salt Spray

Beach hair with Sea Salt Spray

Air dry method:

Spray onto damp hair. Concentrate on the ends and mid-length area, avoiding the roots. Scrunch hair and allow to air dry!

Blow dry method:

Spray a heat protection product onto your hair and blow dry. Add in some curls with a curling tool, if so desired. Spray Sea Salt Spray onto the midway to ends of your hair and scrunch. Sea Salt Spray should always be used last.

Braid Method:

Spray onto damp hair. Concentrate on the ends and mid-length area, avoiding the roots. Braid hair. I find that two side braids or a french braid work well. Leave in for several hours, or sleep in them. Remove braids and finger comb for natural beachy tresses!

Personally I favor the braid method. It is just so simple. I shower the night before, put my hair into two braids and go to sleep. When I wake up, I take the braids out, add a second spritz of sea salt, scrunch and go. Occasionally I may add some curl to the front to frame my face. Easy-peasy!
