Okay, let’s get real. I’m about to share the absolute EASIEST mac and cheese recipe you’ll ever find. But, and this is a big but, it’s… unconventional. Let’s just say, it’s not going to win any gourmet awards. My first encounter with this dish was at my in-laws’ house, back when my now ex-husband and I were dating. His mom served it up, and my initial reaction was, ‘Wait, what?’ I thought it was the weirdest thing ever. And yes, it’s really made with Cheez Whiz… that cheese dip in a jar.

This dish did eventually grow on me and although we only have it maybe once a year, it is super easy and kids tend to love it, so I thought I would go ahead and share, though I’m pretty sure you can figure out how this is made because it’s seriously just that easy!

Simply boil a pot of water, pour in two cups of macaroni, cooking until tender (al dente).

Once the macaroni is finished, drain the water from the pan, add in large dollops of the Cheez Whiz and stir until the macaroni is covered and serve warm.

No bread crumbs, no butter, just a tasty foolproof mac recipe that is a total comfort food!

But what if you DO want to elevate this simple side dish? You could easily add in some cooked bacon or diced tomatoes to add some more flavor. It is a pretty rich dish, so I typically pair it wiht chicken and a side salad.
