Looking for a unique and playful gift idea for the whole family? Look no further than an All Things Pop Themed Gift Basket! This year, I surprised my aunt, her husband, and their 11-year-old step-daughter with a basket overflowing with fun treats and gifts, all centered around the word “pop.”

The fun began when I found a Babycakes Cake Pop Maker, something I knew my cousin would enjoy. It was the perfect starting point for the theme. For the young foodie, a Pop Art Jewelry Maker sparked creativity. Then came the edible pops: from classic Poptarts and fizzy Pop Rocks to a crunchy Popcorn treat and a tangy Sour Pop Pacifier.

Puns & Personal Touches

A can of Pringles got a playful upgrade with a tag that read: “Once you POP, you just can’t STOP!” Even the “adult” snacks got in on the fun. A bag of beef jerky sported a tag that said “For the POP of the Family,” while a case of beer had a simple “Pop the Top” tag.

I also created one of those cute Lollipop cards that were floating around blog land this past Valentine’s Day. My daughter acted as model for the card.

DIY Gumball Machine

I also made a Terra Cotta Pot Gumball Machine.  I didn’t take photos of the process, but it is fairly straightforward! For supplies, you’ll need a 5″ terra cotta pot, a 5″ saucer, a thick glass bowl that fits on top of the overturned pot, two wooden knobs, paint, a paintbrush, E6000 glue, and gumballs.

Using E6000 glue, adhere the round wooden knob to the front of the pot to look like the section where you place in coins.

Next, adhere a 2nd wooden knob to the bottom of the saucer. This will become the top of the gumball machine and act like a handle to get inside of it.

Using acrylic or spray paint, paint the pot and the saucer your choice of color. I went with a classic red.

Once the paint is dry, use E6000 to adhere the glass bowl to the top of the upside-down pot.

Allow to cure completely, add gumballs and gift!

A Touch for the Furry Family Members

Knowing their love for their dogs, I included a cute little dog bone container made from a Crystal Lite container. You can even download the Pop that Top label if you want to make one yourself!

Lastly, I wrapped the bigger gifts in Bubblewrap for one final POP factor!

A Gift That Pops!

The best part? My aunt’s family absolutely loved the basket! Seeing a picture of their daughter enjoying a cake pop the next day confirmed it was a hit. So, if you’re looking for a gift basket that’s fun, playful, and full of surprises, this All Things Pop Themed Gift Basket is a guaranteed winner!
