This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of FrogTape brand painter’s tape for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

My kiddos love painting. Especially on canvas. It makes them feel “professional” I think! When FrogTape painter’s tape offered to send me some of their tape to try out I knew exactly what I wanted to use it for! Modern Art with Kids. It is so easy and simple to do and very kid friendly. It helps with their motor skills, imagination, creativity and so on.

Modern Art Kids Paintings
I picked up a pack of 5 canvases at Michaels and we got to work.
First step? Let the kids loose with the tape. Don’t micromanage, though I do recommend you press it down firmly once they have it in place. I didn’t do that with my 12 year old and forgot to mention to her to make sure there were no bubbles and she did have a bit of bleed.
The rest of us didn’t have a problem, even with the porousness of the canvas.
It’s really neat to see what the kids come up with on their own and this is a pretty infallible project.
Each of my kids used the same concept but came up with something different. And I was very impressed with the FrogTape® painters tape! Check out those crisp, clean lines on my 4 year old’s creation! SERIOUSLY – this stuff held up against a butt load of paint being poured on it!
My son started with diagonal stripes, painted them and let them dry and took the FrogTape® off.
Then he added more tape and added another layer. Lastly he chose to use a paint marker to draw a tree over the top. Looks pretty neat, right?
My sons favorite part was peeling up the FrogTape®.
We did that while the paint was still wet.
I can think of tons of reasons to use FrogTape® (hellloooo Lamp Shade!), but of course it is originally made for painting walls. Think razor sharp, no-bleed stripes! So how come FrogTape® gives you those perfect stripes? PaintBlock technology, that’s why! PaintBlock is a super-absorbent polymer which reacts with latex paint and instantly gels to form a micro-barrier that seals the edges of the tape, preventing paint bleed. Of course we used acrylic paint for our projects and we still got the crisp, clean lines we were looking for, which actually surprised me because I’ve used other painters tape for similar projects and I had a bit of bleed.
