I headed to Price Chopper to shop their seasonal aisle for some fun holiday decor, as well as to come up with a delicious holiday recipe that would be perfect for holiday entertaining.
I found a great gold sparkle Christmas Tree and a handsome Nutcracker, along with a couple of holiday platters in the seasonal aisle. I then headed off to the cereal aisle where I picked up some General Mill’s Chex Cereal and a bag of M&M’s.
It took me a while to decide what I could use to put together a fun little entertaining piece – there was some delicious looking sparkling cider that I almost grabbed, and a beautiful Christmas Sleigh in the floral department that could have been a beautiful holiday dinner centerpiece. So many options! But I kept it simple and headed home to make a delicious party mix.
When entertaining for the holidays one of the most important aspects is food. Whether you are hosting a dinner, or just a little get together, you must feed your guests! If you are looking for an easy, under 10 minute treat, then I’ve got the solution for you: Chocolate Peanut Butter Chex Mix! It is delicious and satisfies kids and adults alike. Its a tad bit salty and a little bit sweet, the perfect combination. Find the holiday recipe below:
Chocolate Peanut Butter Chex Mix
3 Cups Chocolate Chex cereal
3 Cups Corn Chex cereal
1/2 cup peanut butter M&M’s
1/2 cup peanut butter
In a microwavable bowl, microwave peanut butter uncovered on medium for about 30 seconds. Microwave an additional 10 seconds at a time, until peanut butter is melted. Pour over cereal, stir until evenly coated.
Spread on waxed paper. Place in fridge to cool for 5 minutes.
Stir in candies and serve. Store tightly covered.
Spread the Chocolate Peanut Butter Chex Mix on a holiday platter or in a bowl and set out for your guests to munch on. The nutcracker and the golden tree found a home on my Christmas mantel. They were the perfect addition and made my house holiday ready.
Maybe you aren’t hosting a holiday party but will be attending a few? How about packaging up the tasty treat in a Mason jar and giving it as a hostess gift? A simple way to say thank you for having you as a guest this holiday season?
What is it about mason jars that make everything look so stinkin’ cute?! I love it! Such a nice way to share a yummy treat with family and friends! #client
