Welcome to the 3rd installment of the Plastic Canvas Car Playset tutorial! Now that the grass and roads are all done, it is time to attach the sides. You’ll be surprised to learn that this step is fairly easy!

Plastic Canvas Car Playset Tutorial

Line up one side piece to the main piece of the playset that will be the “bottom” when the playset is folded. Starting on the first row of the sidepiece that is closest to the main piece, thread the yarn from back to front through the first square. Thread the yarn from front to back in the adjoining square of the main piece (see pictures below).

Thread the yarn from back to front in the square to the right of the first square, continuing until the side is attached. Tie a knot, securing the side in place, leaving a short tail that can be hidden by tucking under the completed rows.

To attach the sides to the top piece that creates the closed box, you will need to connect the side pieces by following the same process as above. The only additional step is the connect three sides together, again using the same process. See image below:

Head on over to the 4th and final installment of this tutorial to learn how to attach the buildings. And PLEASE, let me know if you need any clarification on any of these instructions! It is a lot of work and sounds confusing, but it really is a simple craft to complete and your little one will totally appreciate it!
